I'll fight for Werribee on issues that matter to us

I'm John - Labor's candidate for Werribee.
I grew up in Werribee and live here with my partner, Mary and our dog, Watson. We rent and are looking to buy our first home.
My mum, Meg, is a local teacher, and I have followed in her footsteps and now teach Year 10s at Wyndham Central College. I became a teacher for the same reason I'm putting my hand up to represent our community: to make a difference in the area I grew up in.
Outside of school, I am a local CFA volunteer and a leader in the Werribee Brigade.
Werribee is my home. I am a true local – and I am asking for your support to represent our community in Victoria's Parliament.
Labor has delivered for Werribee, removing three level crossings, opening a free Medicare Urgent Care Clinic, and building seven new schools across our community. Cost of living relief like the $400 School Saving Bonus and Free Kinder is making a big difference for local families, and slashing stamp duty from off-the-plan apartments and townhouses will help more people like me own their own home.
Labor has deployed 144 local police to the area and opened the Wyndham Police Complex in Werribee. We've upgraded the Duncans Road Interchange and are building the Ison Road overpass and the West Gate Tunnel.
But there's more to do, and this by-election is about continuing the work we’ve started for Werribee.
That's why Labor is expanding the emergency department at the Werribee Mercy, so you can see a doctor sooner. We're upgrading Ballan Road, opening a brand-new Ambulance Station and more local Kindergartens.
As your local MP, I will always fight for Werribee on the issues that matter to us: the cost of living, local roads, health and schools.
